Tesla Nation is a project launched in 2019 by Startit, with the aim of choosing the best technical experts and innovators from Serbia, and connecting them with partners from around the world. In doing so, Tesla Nation wants to present the talents, ideas and knowledge that come from Serbia and to brand Serbia as a country of innovation and highly qualified technology professionals.

Since the last year, Tesla Nation has been partly supported through USAID project “Venture an Idea”, and it focuses on two main activities:

Creation of partnerships between tech professionals from Serbia and business leaders from foreign markets.

The project focuses on two types of partnerships: connecting Serbian software service companies with clients around the world and connecting technical co-founders from Serbia with business co-founders from developed countries. By doing so, it aims to increase the number of highly skilled startups and companies in the Serbian tech ecosystem, as well as to create a positive image of Serbian professionals in the world.

Diffusion of knowledge from developed markets through a series of business and technical events

Business events are aimed at increasing the chance of success of innovative products from Serbia on the global market by sharing good practice examples from the developed markets, while R&D events focus on presenting complex technological projects and co-founding partnerships between Serbia and developed markets. So far, there have been 4 business events and 2 tech events.

Since the beginning of the initiative, over a million euros have entered Serbia through seven partnerships created by Tesla Nation. The initiative relies on a network of over 40 ambassadors from foreign markets (mostly the USA) and 25 partner companies in Serbia.

Over the next period, the main focus of Tesla Nation will be to continue providing support to the local tech community by offering them opportunities from new markets, along with new insights and knowledge through monthly tech and business events.
